Zhang Jingchu (born 2 February 1980, Fujian, China) is a Chinese film actress. She graduated in Directing at the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing.Zhang was brought up in a middle working class family in the countryside. Acting is her way of making a living. Therefore, she studied English in Beijing New Oriental institution in order to have higher level of income. Because of her fluent English, she does not need a translator for any English Media interviews. Zhang was named one of "Asia's Heroes" by Time magazine in 2005.
